A clinical psychologist looks at Obama’s behavior:

This Is Obama’s Revenge!
[By Joan Swirsky, noted author and practicing psychotherapist.]

Once upon a time, a white teenager from Kansas got pregnant by her black Kenyan boyfriend, Barack Obama, Sr., or was it her husband? Whatever. (I say whatever because we’ve never seen either marriage or divorce certificates).

Some say the couple was in Kenya visiting relatives when the birth of their son, Barack Obama, Jr., occurred. No matter. (I say no matter because we’ve never seen an authentic birth certificate). By the time the baby was two years old his father abandoned him for his other wife and child in Kenya.

I wonder how toddler Barry felt when his father left him, and never reappeared until a single time when the boy was 10. Bewildered? Sad? Lonely? Angry? What do two-year-olds do with those feelings?

It didn’t take long for Barry’s mother to meet and marry an Indonesian native named Lolo Soetoro. They moved to Indonesia, where her child became Barry Soetoro, took on Indonesian citizenship, and was presumably schooled in public, Christian, and Muslim schools. (I say presumably because we’ve never seen those school records). But when Barry was 10 years old, his mother sent him back to the United States to be raised by her parents, Madelyn and Stanley Dunham, although she kept her baby daughter, Maya Soetoro, with her.

I wonder how the by-now fully-sentient young Barry felt when his mother sent him packing. Sad? Jealous of the baby who remained behind with Mommy? Confused and dizzy by the disparate cultures–languages, customs, foods, sights, sounds, schooling–he had experienced? Resentful? What did Barry do with those feelings?

By the time he was 10, the boy had been abandoned three times – by his father, stepfather, and mother. And although he was raised by his white grandparents in Hawaii – where “people of color” were not his color – he found out soon enough that his mixed-race background rendered him, in effect, an outsider. Did that make him feel self-conscious, indignant, victimized?

But he wasn’t altogether an outsider. In Hawaii, young Barry met Frank Marshall Thomas, his first and perhaps most influential mentor. The infamous Marshall, a Communist activist (and self-confessed pedophile) taught Barry – was it Obama, Soetero, Dunham? – that white people were the devil incarnate and that blacks were the most “victimized” people on earth.

Yet the abandoned and rejected child was lucky. His white-devil grandparents gave him a comfortable life in Hawaii, and an education that apparently qualified him to attend several prestigious schools – Occidental College in CA, Columbia Univ. in NY City, and Harvard Law School in Cambridge, MA. (I say apparently qualified because we’ve never seen any of his college transcripts).

From House GOP Leader, John Boehner:

Washington, Feb 26 — As the Obama Administration released its FY 2010 budget today, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) warned taxpayers that “the era of big government is back, and Democrats want you to pay for it.” In 2009, federal spending will approach $4 trillion, or 28 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) — a one-third increase in the size of government in a single year. The budget released by the White House today is loaded with job-killing tax hikes and a slate of even more government spending. Overall, the blueprint projects a record $1.75 trillion deficit this year while doubling the national debt over the next ten years. Following are just 10 fast facts about the Administration’s budget, which our children and grandchildren will be paying for far into the future:

  1. The Administration’s projected budget deficit of $1.75 trillion is higher than the last five years of deficits combined, and under this plan, we will see three consecutive trillion dollar deficits between now and FY 2012.
  2. While it was purported to cut the budget deficit in half – from $1.75 trillion in 2009 to $533 billion by 2013 – this budget projects higher deficits in 2014 ($570 billion), 2015 ($583 billion), and 2016 ($637 billion). In 2019, the final year in the budget, the deficit is projected to be $712 billion.
  3. Including the recently-enacted trillion-dollar “stimulus” spending bill, discretionary spending will soar by 24 percent this year under this budget.
  4. The budget projects that the national debt will increase from $8.4 trillion in 2009 to $15.4 trillion in 2019. [This is not correct. It should be $10.7 trillion. $8.4 trillion is the official external debt owed by the Treasury. $8.4 trillion ignores "internal" debt like the amount owed the Social Security Trust Fund.]
  5. The Administration’s budget contains $1.4 trillion in tax increases – tax hikes that will impact everyone, from small businesses, charities, and seniors to everyone who owns a 401(k) and anyone who flips on a light switch.
  6. After promising that he will reduce taxes on 95 percent of Americans, the Administration’s budget establishes a $646 billion energy tax hike that will impact anyone who uses electricity, drives a car, or relies on energy in any way.
  7. This budget forecasts more than $1.5 trillion in new health care spending, including a 10-year, $634 billion a health care “reserve fund.” The budget also calls for seven percent annual growth in Medicare and more than six percent annual growth in Medicaid over the next 10 years.
  8. The budget includes a $750 billion placeholder for a second round of spending under the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), even though the first round of TARP spending is not yet finished, nor is there a clear explanation of how funds under the initial round was spent.
  9. The Administration’s budget claims that reducing the number of troops in Iraq over the next 10 years will cut the deficit by $1.6 trillion; however, that is only because the budget allocates the same amount of funds for the Iraq war each year over the next decade, even though most combat troops may be withdrawn during the next 19 months. The savings are, at best, deceptive.
  10. The budget provides a scant 2.9 percent pay raise for military personnel as required by law, less than a week after Democrats in Congress provided the necessary funding to implement District of Columbia locality pay for overseas Foreign Service officers, which would constitute an 18 percent pay increase.

The first two items in my aggregated list of today’s “TV Headlines”:

msnbc.com::

Obama sending Congress ‘hard choices’ budget

President Barack Obama is sending Congress a “hard choices” budget that would boost taxes on the wealthy and curtail Medicare payments to insurance companies and hospitals to make way for a $634 billion down payment on universal health care.

CBSNews.com:

Obama Budget Lays Out “Hard Choices”

President Barack Obama is sending Congress a “hard choices” budget that would boost taxes on the wealthy and curtail Medicare payments to insurance companies and hospitals to make way for a $634 billion down payment on universal health care.

I didn’t look at the full MSNBC story but the CBS story is 1436 words in 32 paragraphs. The first 30 paragraphs and 1356 words are devoted to promoting Obama’s spending spree and they appear before the reader gets to this:

The $1.75 trillion deficit projected for this year would represent 12.3 percent of the gross domestic product, double the previous post-war record of 6 percent in 1983, when Ronald Reagan was president, and the highest level since the deficit totaled 21.5 percent of GDP in 1945, at the end of World War II.

Illegals targeted sheriff as gang initiation

The attempted assassination of a South Carolina deputy sheriff was a gang initiation carried out by three illegal immigrants including a 15-year-old boy who was supposed to “kill a cop” in order to be admitted as a member, according to a confidential Department of Homeland Security advisory.

Lexington County, S.C., Deputy Sheriff Ted Xanthakis and his K-9 police dog, Arcos, were attacked by the three illegals armed with a 12-gauge shotgun during a Feb. 8 incident in West Columbia, S.C., shortly after 3 a.m. The deputy and his dog survived.

Two of the men were identified in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) report as members of the Surenos gang, or SUR-13, a collection of Mexican-American street gangs with origins in the oldest barrios of Southern California.

It’s interesting to note that the attempted murder of the deputy sheriff took place in the small community of West Columbia, S.C.

In November 2002 the Mexican government brazenly set up shop in West Columbia to issue Mexican ID cards called matricula consulars to SC’s growing illegal immigrant population so they could get driver’s licenses, open bank accounts, finance auto loans, and qualify for mortgage loans. At the time, the DHS said it was OK for foreign governments to lend a helping hand to it’s expatriots. Here’s a story on that incident.

And BTW: I wonder if the gang’s shotgun was registered.

Life’s tough….it’s even tougher if you’re stupid.
- – - – - John Wayne

From over the transom:

1. WILL THE REAL DUMMY PLEASE STAND UP?
AT&T fired President John Walter after nine months, saying he lacked intellectual leadership. He received a $26 million severance package. Perhaps it’s not Walter who’s lacking intelligence.

2. WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS.
Police in Oakland, CA spent two hours attempting to subdue a gunman who had barricaded himself inside his home. After firing ten tear gas canisters, officers discovered that the man was standing beside them in the police line, shouting, “Please come out and give yourself up.”

3. WHAT WAS PLAN B?
An Illinois man, pretending to have a gun, kidnapped a motorist and forced him to drive to two different automated teller machines, wherein the kidnapper proceeded to withdraw money from his own bank accounts.

4. THE GETAWAY!
A man walked into a Topeka, Kansas Kwik Stop and asked for all the money in the cash drawer. Apparently, the take was too small, so he tied up the store clerk and worked the counter himself for three hours until police showed up and grabbed him.

5. DID I SAY THAT?
Police in Los Angeles had good luck with a robbery suspect who just couldn’t control himself during a lineup. When detectives asked each man in the lineup to repeat the words: “Give me all your money or I’ll shoot”. The man shouted back, “that’s not what I said!”.

6. ARE WE COMMUNICATING?
A man spoke frantically into the phone: “My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart”. “Is this her first child?” the doctor asked. “No!” the man shouted, “this is her husband!”

7. NOT THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHED!
In Modesto, CA, Steven Richard King was arrested for trying to hold up a Bank of America branch without a weapon. King used a thumb and a finger to simulate a gun. Unfortunately, he failed to keep his hand in his pocket. (hellooooooo)!

8. THE GRAND FINALE!
On Lake Isabella, in the high desert an hour east of Bakersfield, CA, some folks new to boating were having a problem. No matter how hard they tried they couldn’t get their brand new 22 ft. boat going. It was very sluggish in almost every maneuver, no matter how much power they applied. After about an hour of trying to make it go, they pulled into a nearby marina thinking someone there may be able to tell them what was wrong. A thorough topside check revealed everything in perfect working condition. The engine ran fine, the out-drive went up and down, and the propeller was the correct size and pitch. Finally, one of the marina guys jumped in the water to check underneath. He came up choking on water and from laughter. Under the boat, still strapped securely in place, was the trailer!

Macropinna microstoma:
A deep-sea fish with a transparent head

Here’s the story….

MBARI researchers Bruce Robison and Kim Reisenbichler used video taken by unmanned, undersea robots called remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to study barreleye fish in the deep waters just offshore of Central California. At depths of 600 to 800 meters (2,000 to 2,600 feet) below the surface, the ROV cameras typically showed these fish hanging motionless in the water, their eyes glowing a vivid green in the ROV’s bright lights. The ROV video also revealed a previously undescribed feature of these fish–its eyes are surrounded by a transparent, fluid-filled shield that covers the top of the fish’s head.

Tell me…. If a home buyer puts no money down for an Adjustable Rate Mortgage (ARM), pays upfront teaser rates for a few years and then goes belly-up, why the hell should we bail them out? They’re no worse off than renters. It’s not like someone that put money down and made full mortgage payments. The latter actually has an “investment” to protect, yet it’s the latter that’s being totally overlooked in the schemes being floated by Obama and his Comrades.

Here’s an example:

…but leave these costs untouched:

The Costs of Illegal Immigration to North Carolinians

North Carolina has a rapidly growing illegal alien population of about 385,000 persons, and the fiscal burden on North Carolinians resulting from public services used by that population is similarly increasing. The federal government estimated North Carolina’s illegal alien population at 380,000 persons as of 2007. The growth of the illegal alien population since 2000 accounts for all of the total foreign-born population increase over the same period. It also accounts for more than one-sixth (17.7%) of the state’s total population increase.

FAIR estimates that the annual fiscal burden on North Carolina taxpayers from illegal immigration is more than $1.3 billion. That equates to an annual cost of about $388 per native-born headed household. In addition, there is a cost to the state’s economy of another $1.2 billion from remittances sent abroad.

The rapid growth of the illegal alien population prompted the state legislature to take action to deny driver’s licenses to persons without a Social Security number or valid visa as of August 2006. Since then state agencies have had to verify the legal employment status of their new employees. Additionally, seven counties and the Durham police department have entered into Section 287(g) agreements with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that train and deputize local law enforcement personnel to work cooperatively in immigration law enforcement. These measures are a positive response to public opinion in the state. A Rassmussen/FOX poll of North Carolina voters found in 2007 that more than seven out of ten respondents agreed that it is “very important to for the government to improve border enforcement and reduce illegal immigration.” An earlier Elon University poll found that 56 percent responded that “immigrants are a burden on the state because of the jobs, housing and health care they take.” To the extent that these enforcement measures encourage illegal aliens to leave the state, they should help Governor Perdue cope with an anticipated one to three billion dollar budget deficit.

By THOMAS SOWELL:

Despair Sets In With America On A Fatal Arc

An increasing number of recent letters and e-mails from readers strike a note, not only of unhappiness with the way things are going in our society, but a note of despair.

Those of us who are pessimists are only a step away from despair ourselves, so we may not be the ones to offer the best antidote to the view that America has seen its best days and is degenerating toward what may well be its worst. Yet what hope remains is no less precious nor any less worthy of being preserved.

First of all, the day-to-day life of most Americans in these times is nowhere near as dire as that of the band of cold, ragged and hungry men who gathered around George Washington in the winter at Valley Forge, to which they had been driven by defeat after defeat.

Only the most reckless gambler would have bet on them to win. Only an optimist would have expected them to survive.

Against the background of those and other desperate times that this country has been through, we cannot whine today because the stocks in our pension plans have gone down or the inflated value that our houses had just a few years ago has now evaporated.

In another sense, however, looming ahead of us — and our children and their children — are dangers that can utterly destroy American society. Worse yet, there are moral corrosions within ourselves that weaken our ability to face the challenges ahead.

One of the many symptoms of this decay from within is that we are preoccupied with the pay of corporate executives while the leading terrorist-sponsoring nation on Earth is moving steadily toward creating nuclear bombs.

Does anyone imagine that we will care what anyone’s paycheck is when we see an American city in radioactive ruins?
