Was this a Freudian slip? » McCain at townhall event in Richardson, Texas.

While we’re on the subject of McShamesty, Mike Gallagher, a popular talk radio host, writes “An Open Letter to Sen. John McCain”:

Before you completely disregard my letter because I’m one of those annoying conservative radio talk show hosts, I hope you’ll consider the fact that over the past few weeks, I’ve been getting a ton of flak for supporting your expected candidacy.

[...]

… I’ve been doing my best to remind my radio audience about the importance of future Supreme Court justices, how solid you’d be in trying to keep our country as safe as possible against the threat of Islamic terrorists, the ongoing need to preserve and protect the sanctity of life, the crucial defense of the right to keep and bear arms, and all the other reasons why a Republican — any Republican — would be more preferable to the Democrats.

And you know what? I sensed that I was persuading the cynics. I know you have a spotty track record on the subject of illegal immigration, but you keep saying that you’re hearing the American people now and you absolutely understand the need to secure the border.

[...]

And then along came Cincinnati.

[...]

So Sen. McCain, I’ve gotta ask: whose bright idea was it for you to run to the microphones and cameras afterwards and act as if Cunningham had smothered a puppy on stage?

AliPAC: Authorities have confirmed that the the driver of the van that struck the school bus that killed 4 students on Tuesday is an illegal alien.

Officials at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement are checking to see where she came from and how long she’s been in Minnesota. FOX 9 has also learned that the name she gave to police, Alainiss Morales, is an alias.

23-year-old Alainiss N. Morales was taken into custody on suspicion of criminal vehicular operation. She was arrested by the State Patrol Thursday afternoon and is being held in Lyon County Jail. County Attorney Rick Maes told the Marshall Independent charges could come later Thursday or Friday…The van was driven by Alianiss N. Morales, 23, of Minneota. The Fox 9 Investigator found Morales pleaded guilty in Chippewa County in 2006 to driving without a valid license.

Illegal Alien driver kills 4 school children

From CNN (without mention of ILLEGAL):

The bus was hit by a van around 3:25 p.m. on a highway south of Cottonwood. The bus then hit a pickup and tipped on its side, State Patrol Lt. Mark Peterson said.

At least 14 people were hurt. Thirteen students were treated at nearby hospitals.

News of the crash swept through Cottonwood, a small town of about 1,000 people about 121 miles southwest of Minneapolis.

In his own words: “Tim Worstall is an Englishman who has failed at many things.” — I would suggest that one of those failures is a lack of understanding of the global economy.

At PM Worstall, writes: “Why Tariffs and Quotas Don’t Work.” The article reveals a complete ignorance of the concept of tariffs and quotas that served the world so well for hundreds of years, beginning before the emergence of the British Empire.

Worstall reveals that he thinks like the denizens of Haight Ashbury of the 1960s, that everything is now or never. He clearly doesn’t get it, those tariffs and quotas have always been used as transitional devices and not as final solutions.

He’s nearly right about one thing: the problems of today’s global economy and the growing hostilities from displaced workers have been severely exacerbated by politicians. I would add that ignorant writers and dumbass U.S. Trade Reps like Carla A. Hill, Robert B. Zoellick and Susan C. Schwab have done more than their share to totally screw up a working global trading system and convert the U.S. from a world leader to the world’s biggest patsy.

Worstall’s near-sightedness prevents him from seeing the cataclysm that lies ahead if a policy of “free trade” instead of “fair trade” is continued.

Kenyan elders want U.S. apology over Obama photo

ISIOLO, Kenya (Reuters) — Kenyan elders demanded an apology from Washington on Thursday ahead of a planned protest over a controversial photo of U.S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama in traditional Somali dress.

The picture, which appeared on a U.S. Web site, showed the Democratic frontrunner donning a white headdress and robes during a visit in 2006 to the remote north-eastern town of Wajir.

The photo [below, which Reuters did not run] took centre stage in an increasingly acrimonious race for the White House, with Obama aides accusing his party rival Hillary Clinton’s camp of “the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering” after it was published.

Obama, whose late father was [a Muslim] from western Kenya, has fought a whispering campaign by fringe elements who wrongly say that he is Muslim and have even compared his surname to that of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Clinton’s campaign denied it officially approved the picture’s release.

The dispute has angered many in Kenya, especially ethnic Somalis from the northeast, who resent the implication that Obama did anything wrong during his visit. [Note the omission that these are Islamists Somali invaders backing Raila Odinga in his attempt to overthrown Kenya's pro-Western government. -- See below.]

Wajir residents plan to demonstrate after Friday prayers to show their support for the Illinois senator.

[...]

Many Kenyans support Obama in the way the Irish idolised U.S. President John F. Kennedy in the 1960s — as one of their own who succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

Barack Hussein Obama in Muslim garb

Not only did Reuters omit the photo; the article fails to mention that Barack Hussein Obama’s Kenyan relatives are leaders in an attempt to overthrow the legally elected, secular, pro-Western government of Kenya. Furthermore, Obama has made it a point to stay in close touch with the “rebels” insurgents during his campaign. Reporters have written about his frequent phone calls from backstage at his rallies to his “cousin” Raila Odinga, a leader of the Kenyan insurgency.

Another thing that Reuters fails to point out is when John F. Kennedy was running for president, there was no connection between him and any group trying to overthrown the legal government of Ireland as there is between Obama and Raila Odinga.

As the story of the connection between Obama and Odinga unfolds, you can expect the MSM to spin it as a simple dispute over election results like the U.S. faced between Bush – Gore in Election 2000. As they say, mark my words.

Soon — as a young child approaches — the wary familiarity gives way to fascination. I may be in the same geographic location, but I’m not in the same neighborhood. This is not Al Doura, at least not as I knew it. Where did all these people and shops come from? Where is all the trash, and the open sewage? Where is the fear — the deep-seated fear?

Children approach, as they usually do — but today it’s not just children. Young men walk up, initiating conversation. Women cross the street between our humvees, seemingly unaware of the GIs. The people are friendly, but not assertively so. Our presence is natural, almost routine. My inner tension clashes with the calm scene unfolding around me.

I take a few steps into the middle of an intersection with a clear view in all directions. Along the main thoroughfare, my immediate surroundings are replicated: block after block of shops and bustling residents. The side streets that I remember as sewage-clogged gutters are clean and teeming with construction and activity.

This is not Al Doura. The Al Doura I knew was the heart of sectarian violence, with daily body counts in the dozens. As I keep walking, I pass a busy car wash, and then a fitness center where young men pump iron and tear-outs of Muscle Fitness adorn the walls. We pass two new playgrounds, where boys clamber up and down slides and beautiful little girls play with dolls. A cart vendor offers me a bag of freshly popped popcorn — but I decline and have some falafel instead.

More from Families United:

CONVICTION IN ASSAULT CASE FROM SEPTEMBER EVENT

During our September press conference event Karen Testerman of New Hampshire was hit from behind by Mr. David Barrows who is known as an anti-war protestor in the Washington, D.C. area. Karen pressed charges, and on Tuesday, March February 26, 2008, Mr. Barrows was convicted of Simple Assault. Sentencing is still pending.

Our reason for sharing this information is to remind us all of the way Families United has chosen to stand strong in honor of our heroes. We will stand strong, we will not have physical confrontations with those who have opposing viewpoints. We will not stand on a street corner and argue with the anti-war proponents as it only encourages them to continue yelling and thru that they hope to incite you to physical violence so they can then sue you. This is not our way. This is not what our heroes fought for!

Pajamas Media:

How did “Agent of Change” and modern day prophet Barack Obama get involved with a real estate developer indicted for political corruption and fraud?

Rick Moran

The fact that the proposed housing was outside of the district he represented as a state senator is an interesting addendum to the story. With no real political interest of his own or any benefit for his constituents, Obama (playing the oldest and most cherished of political games) rubbed the back of a man who had rubbed his – to the tune of $855,000.

Obama has denied doing any favors for Rezko. He is right. Putting pressure on bureaucrats to give a crony a contract worth $855,000 in personal fees is beyond “favor” and enters the realm of corrupt deal.

There’s much more…

The Leftoid mentality that the end always justifies the means came around to bite them in the hinny at one of North Carolina’s uberliberal college campuses last Friday. A dramatic exercise was set up with the clear intent to demonstrate the evils of gun ownership but the lesson learned is how not to stage a mock disaster.

The 16-campus University of North Carolina system was taken over by moonbats back when Jimmy Carter was escaping from killer rabbits. Today the system is headed by one of Bill Clinton’s buddies, Erskine Bowles, and his minions came up with this idea:

The drill was designed to deal with an on-campus shooter, but it turned into a textbook case of how not to stage a mock disaster. Officials at Elizabeth City State University are fortunate that no one panicked or did something rash last Friday. The classroom-intruder exercise they put on was provocative, dangerous and ill-conceived, needlessly placing students and a professor in fear of their lives.

Sure, administrators at ECSU and other branches of the 16-campus University of North Carolina system are right to think about thwarting calamities. Real preparedness, however, requires sharper thinking than was on display at the Elizabeth City campus last week.

The stupidity provoked one clear-headed response:

A spokesman for OpenCarry.org, a gun rights group, rightly noted that if there’d been an armed student in the class — North Carolina campuses are gun-free by law — he or she might have opened up on the intruder. Scratch one “gunman,” along with who knows what collateral damage.

To which the dunderheads at Raleigh’s News & Observer retorted:

(As if blind to just such a scenario, OpenCarry thinks an armed student body is a safe student body.)

The Left believes we must be protected from common sense. It’s NOT true that on-campus Open Carry Permits would have created a dead police office (the pretend shooter in the stupid demo at ECSU) because OCPs would have prevented the stupid exercise from ever taking place to begin with. Think about it: would they have pulled the same stunt in a police station or an Army base?

Captain Ed gives us another instance of one wanting to project an image of principled behavior but instead he demonstrates how completely he submits to the Left’s yin.

He makes a good post (with video) of Jesse Jackson’s incoherence in trying to explain away Michelle Obama’s admission that she hates America … unless she becomes First Lady. Ed comments:

He actually makes it worse by getting it wrong twice, and then trying to avoid the real meaning by shifting to Bill O’Reilly’s idiotic use of the term “lynch”.

Ed is referring to O’Reilly’s use of the word “lynch” in common conversational mode, i.e., “lynch mob” or “lynch mob mentality,” that Jackson tried to spin into hate speech in the video.

To me Ed comes off looking like a bigger jerk than Jackson. Why does he feel obligated to surrender parts of the language to people that are just trying to make life miserable for the rest of us? What are we to do with my black friend Ed Lynch? Lynch him?

BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) — A man shot and killed four people at a high-rise public housing complex and then himself as authorities were pursuing him Wednesday, police said.

Rusty L. Rumley, 26, opened fire around noon during a domestic dispute at Edgemont Towers, police spokeswoman Stephanie Hoskins said. She had no other details on a motive for the shootings.

Three people were found dead on the 8th floor of the 10-story building, which was operated by the city’s public housing authority. The fourth victim died at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Hoskins said Rumley fled the scene in his vehicle and then crashed it near the Sullivan-Carter County line about 25 miles southwest of Bristol, Hoskins said.

The vehicle was empty when officers arrived. Hoskins said Rumley was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot off Rasnick Hollow Road in Carter County.

Rumley was last known to be living in Watauga, near where his body was found.

Details on the victims weren’t immediately available. A news conference was scheduled late Wednesday afternoon.

Well, well well, it turns out that Barack Hussein Obama, the one with no experience, has more guts in his little finger that John McCain has in his whole body.

After McShamnesty went before cameras yesterday to kiss the twerp’s ring, the otiose one turned on him today and showed McIdiot how to play the game.

When it was McCain’s turn to score a point, he retaliated by attacking the men that had exposed John Kerry as a fraud.

Seeing that McShamesty doesn’t have what it takes to put on an adequate fight, Hussein went on the attack and is letting the former military hero have it with both barrels. I say good from him; I hate f—ing weasels myself, so I know just how exuberant Louis Farrakhan’s goodest buddy must feel.

You know, McCain’s biggest problem is that he’s trying to run as a liberal Democrat but that ticket is full.
